Jason Katims, the executive producer of NBC's Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, will collaborate with Hamilton and Rent producer Jeffrey Seller on a new television pilot based on the book Drama High. As a television producer, this marks Seller's first scripted production.

Inspired by the life of Lou Volpe and the book by Michael Sokolove, Drama High "introduces us to an extraordinary working class high school drama department and the incredible students who come alive under a passionate teacher and family man whose dedication to the program galvanizes the entire town."

Katims and Seller produce with Flody Suarez and Michelle Lee. NBC will decide whether to pick up Drama High as a series this spring.
