Several major theater actors will star in the new TV Land pilot I Shudder, written by playwright Paul Rudnick (Jeffrey).

The pilot will be led by Hamish Linklater (Cymbeline) as Elyot Vionette, an eccentric advocate of manners who allies himself with his 11-year-old neighbor to try to make the world a better place, one classless person at a time. Linklater will be joined by Smash and Wicked favorite Megan Hilty (Noises Off), John Behlmann (Significant Other), Tony nominee Geneva Carr (Hand to God), and Brooklyn Shuck (Annie). Casting was first announced by The Hollywood Reporter.

The single-camera comedy from CBS Television Studios is executive-produced by Dan Jinks alongside Rudnick. It is based on Rudnick's 2009 book I Shudder, and Other Reactions to Life, Death, and New Jersey. Shooting will begin in July.

Rudnick is also the author of the plays The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Regrets Only, and The New Century, as well as the screenplays In & Out and Addams Family Values.
