Broadway’s Hand to God has announced plans to offer early-purchasing theatergoers the chance to buy tickets for $33 apiece, in recognition of the 33 countries around the world that ban the political use of hand puppets. A limited number of mezzanine seats will be available at this price beginning March 14 for performances from March 16-April 6. These discounted tickets must be purchased during a limited one week on-sale window (through March 22). There is a limit of four tickets per purchase.

This special pricing option follows on the heels of a recently announced plan to offer a limited number of $20.15 tickets for the show's first 15 preview performances. The onsale window for tickets at the $20.15 price is open through 11pm today, March 13.

In addition, the production has announced its rush-ticket policy, offering a limited number of $27 general rush tickets available when the box office opens on the day of the performance. Seats may be partial view and are subject to availability. Additionally, when the box office opens on the day of the performance, $27 standing-room tickets will be available for sold-out shows. All rush tickets are limited to two per person.

Hand to God will begin performances at the Booth Theatre on March 14 in advance of an April 7 opening. Written by Robert Askins and directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the play tells the story of Jason, a young member of the Christian Puppet Ministry in Cypress, Texas, whose life is thrown into chaos when Tyrone, his hand puppet, takes on a dangerous personality of his own.

The show originally ran at Ensemble Studio Theatre before moving to MCC Theater in 2014. The complete MCC Theater cast — comprising Steven Boyer as Jason and Tyrone, Geneva Carr as Margery, Marc Kudisch as Pastor Greg, Sarah Stiles as Jessica, and Michael Oberholtzer as Timmy — take part in the Broadway transfer.
