Julius Caesar and A Midsummer Night's Dream Set for Shakespeare in the Park

The Public Theater will present the plays free at the Delacorte Theater this summer.

The Public Theater will present Julius Caesar and A Midsummer Night's Dream as part of its upcoming free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte Theater.

Julius Caesar will run May 23-June 18 under the direction of Public Theater artistic leader Oskar Eustis. A Midsummer Night's Dream will play July 11-August 13, with Lear deBessonet, the founder and resident director of the organization's Public Works initiative. Caesar was last seen in the park in 2000, while Midsummer was last seen in 2007. Full casting and additional information will be announced in the coming months.

The Public also announced that its annual gala, to be held June 5, will celebrate 50 years of musicals that the Public has championed. The star-studded lineup for Hair to Hamilton is still to be revealed.
