Emmy-nominated actress Fran Drescher will help kick off Gay Pride Week 2015 in New York City this summer with a Floating Cocktail Party Cruise, organized through her nonprofit Cancer Schmancer Movement.

The cruise will be held aboard the S.S. Hornblower hybrid on Sunday, June 21, from 5-8pm, setting sail from Pier 40, at Hudson River Park. All proceeds from the event will go to Cancer Schmancer Movement and the organization's family and health initiatives.

Drescher celebrates 15 years as a uterine cancer survivor. Since her diagnosis, she has become an advocate for the cause, aiming to shift America’s focus toward proactive health care and healthy, toxin-free living.

As founder and president and of the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer Movement, she focuses on three prongs to fight the disease: early detection, prevention, and advocacy. She joins this project with her LGBT advocacy, expanding the fight for gay rights to include family health.

"I’m so excited to set sail on my 15th anniversary of wellness to celebrate and support healthy lifestyles for gay families with the Cancer Schmancer Movement‘s Detox Your Home Program," said Drescher. "We’re going to have so much fun along with some of my fabulous girlfriends like Rosie O’Donnell. Now let’s just hope I don’t get seasick!"

Best known for her Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated role on the long-running sitcom The Nanny, Drescher made her Broadway debut last year as Madame in Rodgers Hammerstein's Cinderella. She is currently reprising the role in a production at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre.
