First Look at Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig's The World of Extreme Happiness

Francis Jue, Telly Leung, Jennifer Lim, and more star in the Manhattan Theatre Club production.

Manhattan Theatre Club has released the first production photos from its current world premiere of Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig's The World of Extreme Happiness. The coproduction with Chicago's Goodman Theatre will have an official opening night on February 24 at MTC's New York City Center – Stage I. Eric Ting directs.

In the play, Sunny is determined to escape her life in rural China and forge a new identity in the city. Sunny views her new job in a grueling factory as a stepping stone, but when fate casts her as a company spokeswoman at a sham PR event, Sunny's bright outlook starts to unravel.

The show's cast features Glee veteran Telly Leung as well as Francis Jue, Jennifer Lim, Jo Mei, James Saito, and Sue Jin Song.
