Joey Slotnick, Jeanine Serralles, Mary Beth Peil, and More Lead Dying For It at Atlantic Theater Company

Moira Buffini’s comedy will be directed by Neil Pepe.

Joey Slotnick (The Big Knife) will lead the cast of Moira Buffini’s Dying For It, a production of the Atlantic Theater Company beginning performances December 11 at the Linda Gross Theater. Freely adapted from Nikolai Erdman’s The Suicide, the production, directed by Neil Pepe, officially opens January 8 for a run that concludes January 18.

The satire on Soviet life stars Slotnick as Semyon, a man who decides to kill himself and becomes the target of a series of sympathetic visitors determined to make him a martyr for their various causes. Joining Slotnick is an ensemble cast made up of Mia Barron, Ben Beckley, Nathan Dame, Patch Darragh, Clea Lewis, Peter Maloney, Andrew Mayer, Mary Beth Peil, Jeanine Serralles, Robert Stanton, and C.J. Wilson.

Dying For It premeired at London’s Almeida Theatre in 2007. Buffini’s plays also include Gabriel, Dinner, Welcome to Thebes, and Handbagged, which recently completed a run on London’s West End.

The creative team of Dying For It includes Walt Spangler (scenic design), Suttirat Larlarb and Moria Clinton (costume design), David Weiner (lighting design), Ben Truppin-Brown (sound design), Josh Schmidt (original music), and J. David Brimmer (fight direction).
