The Duck Dynasty family, of American reality-television fame, are turning their story into a musical, according to published reports. Teaming up with seasoned Broadway producer Michael David (Jersey Boys, Jesus Christ Superstar), the Robertsons plan to open their musical at Las Vegas' Rio Hotel and Casino starting April 15.

The musical is based on the 2012 book The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family, and Ducks Built a Dynasty, written by Willie and Korie Robertson. The show features music by Joe Shane, Stephen Morris, and Robert Morris, and a book by Asa Somers.

Duck Dynasty is an A&E series that portrays the lives of the Louisiana-based Robertson family, who became wealthy from their family-operated business that makes products for duck hunters. The show, which premiered in 2012 and has run for six seasons, also highlights the family's Christian and sometimes homophobic views.
