David Rockwell Hosts Midsummer Soirée for Annaleigh Ashford, Danny Burstein, and More

Rockwell designed the free Shakespeare in the Park production of ”A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

Tony-winning scenic designer David Rockwell hosted a summer soirée to celebrate the Public Theater's 2017 free Shakespeare in the Park production of A Midsummer Night's Dream prior to its opening-night performance on July 31. Rockwell designed the set for Midsummer, as well as its Delacorte Theater predecessor Julius Caesar, and the upcoming presentation of As You Like It.

The party took place at Ovando (1091 Madison Avenue), a creative studio that combines the sensibilities of visual art with the multimedia disciplines of floral, event decor, visual merchandising, and stagecraft. Rockwell's firm, Rockwell Group, designed the new space.
