Lance Coadie Williams, Charlayne Woodard, and More Set for Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' War

Casting has been announced for upcoming LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of War by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. The play will begin performances May 21 for a six week-run through July 3 at the Claire Tow Theater. Opening night is set for June 6.

The cast will feature Austin Durant (You Can’t Take It With You), Reggie Gowland (4000 Miles), Chris Myers (brownsville song (b-side for tray)), Rachel Nicks (And I and Silence), Michele Shay (A Raisin in the Sun), Lance Coadie Williams (Shows for Days), and Tony nominee Charlayne Woodard (Ain't Misbehavin').

In War, tensions escalate between Tate (Myers) and Joanne (Nicks) after their mother (Woodard) has a stroke. As they attack each other in their mother’s hospital room, they are ambushed by two strangers who make a shocking claim about their grandfather.

The production will have sets by Mimi Lien, costumes by Montana Blanco, lighting by Matt Frey, and sound by Bray Poor.
