The New York premiere of Camp Kappawanna — a new family musical featuring music and lyrics by Grammy Award-nominated singer and songwriter Lisa Loeb, Michelle Lewis, and Dan Petty — will be presented by Atlantic Theater Company's Atlantic for Kids initiative. Directed by Alison Beatty, the production features a book by Cusi Cram and Peter Hirsch, choreography by MK Lawson, and musical direction by Nate Weida.

Loeb started her career with the platinum-selling No. 1 hit song "Stay (I Missed You)," from the the film Reality Bites. In 2008, Loeb joined the nonprofit sector to launch the Camp Lisa Foundation to help raise funds to send kids to camp. Following the misadventures of the awkward and adorable 12-year-old Jennifer Jenkins, Camp Kappawanna portrays the fear and excitement of leaving home for the first time. This lighthearted musical with an acoustic sound is inspired by Loeb’s own summer-camp memories.

Camp Kappawanna plays Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:30am from March 21 through April 12 at the Linda Gross Theater. The show is recommended for children ages 7 to 11.
