Tony Award winner Billy Porter comes to Lincoln Center's Appel Room tonight for two American Songbook Series concerts, at 7:30pm and 9:30pm.

The performances will feature selections from his latest album of jazz-inflected Broadway standards, Billy’s Back on Broadway. Pop star and Tony-winning Kinky Boots composer Cyndi Lauper, who was previously slated to join Porter onstage for a duet, will no longer be performing. The concert will be recorded by Live From Lincoln Center for future broadcast.

Porter is best known for originating the role of Lola in Broadway's Kinky Boots — a role that earned him a 2013 Tony Award. His other Broadway credits include Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, the 1994 revival of Grease, and Smokey Joe's Cafe. Earlier this year, he made his playwriting debut with the off-Broadway premiere of While I Yet Live at The Duke on 42nd Street.
