Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany has withdrawn from Second Stage Theatre's upcoming world-premiere production of Neil LaBute's The Way We Get By, to be directed by Tony nominee Leigh Silverman, because of scheduling conflicts.

Amanda Seyfried, best known for her performances on the television drama Big Love and in the film version of the musical Mamma Mia!, replaces Maslany in the two-character dark comedy, which begins performances on April 28 before opening on May 20.

Seyfried, making her off-Broadway debut, will star alongside Tony nominee Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom). They play Beth and Doug, who wake up together following a drunken wedding reception and share a very awkward morning-after conversation about sex, society, and how much they really care about what other people think.

The production features scenic design by Neil Patel, costume design by Emily Rebholtz, lighting design by Matthew Frey, and sound design by Jill BC DuBoff.
