Casting Announced for US Premiere of Sam Shepard's A Particle of Dread

Signature Theatre, in collaboration with Field Day, has announced casting for its upcoming U.S. premiere production of Sam Shepard's A Particle of Dread (Oedipus Variations), directed by Nancy Meckler. Offering a modern-day take on Oedipus Rex, performances are set to begin November 11 in advance of a November 23 opening.

Joining previously announced Academy Award nominee Stephen Rea (The Crying Game), who stars in the production, will be Tony Award winner Brid Brennan (Dancing at Lughnasa), Lloyd Hutchinson (Anonymous), Jason Kolotouros (Her Majesty the King), Matthew Rauch (The Wolf of Wall Street), Aidan Redmond (The Cripple of Inishmaan), and Judith Roddy (The Fall).

The design team includes Frank Conway (scenic design), Lorna Marie Mugan (costume design), Michael Chybowski (lighting design), Jill BC Du Boff (sound design), Neil Martin (composer), and Kate Wilson (dialect coach).
