Jessica Hecht, Bill Camp, and More Raise the Roof for the 52nd Street Project

The evenings will showcase child playwrights in their Playmaking Stage-One program.

The 52nd Street Project celebrates its 2014 fall Playmaking Stage-One shows this weekend with a series of performances called Raise the Roof. Shows will take place December 5-7 at the Five Angels Theater.

The evening is the culmination of a nine-week Playmaking Stage-One course, in which children learn to write plays for the theater.

The list of child playwrights includes Natasha Davis, Emmanuel Goicuria, Rebecca Gomez, Charde Harvey, Ginaijia Hires, Lescot Ortiz, Ethan Perez, Jayleen Velez, and Ethan Zenteno.

The list of adult directors includes Alex Barron, Ka-ling Cheung, Gretchen Hall, Kel Haney, Tasha Gordon-Solmon, Tim J. Lord, Alexandra O’Daly, Don Nguyen, and John Sheehy. Kim D. Sherman serves as musical director.

The company is made up of Sofiya Akilova, Lauren Blumenfeld, Michael Braun, Maren Bush, Bill Camp, Tina Chilip, Dylan Dawson, Bjorn DuPaty, Arielle Goldman, Jessica Hecht, Jennifer Ikeda, Kareem M. Lucas, Nick Mills, Christina Pumariega, Joshua David Robinson, David Shih, Mirirai Sithole, and Sathya Sridharan.
