TheaterMania is there for three Broadway openings and other high profile events.

The third Broadway revival of the brilliant Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents musical Gypsy opened last night at the Shubert Theatre. Here, star Bernadette Peters and director Sam Mendes celebrate during the after-party at Gustavino’s.















Also at the Gypsy party: Broadway star Nathan Lane, here with Arthur Laurents.



Among the celebrities who attended the Gypsy opening was Sam Mendes’s main squeeze, Kate Winslet.


Prior to the performance, Peters and the show’s “Hollywood Blondes” participated in the traditional — and, in this case, particularly apt — Gypsy Robe ceremony at the theater.





Now that the theater awards season is upon us, rarely a night goes by without a major opening. Here’s Al Pacino at The Whiskey during the after party for Salome, which opened on Wednesday, April 30…


…and here’s Pacino’s co-star, Marisa Tomei. She plays the title role of the Judean princess who really wants to get a head.















April 29 marked the opening of Enchanted April at the Belasco. Here’s Molly Ringwald taking her curtain call…
