Origin's Seventh Annual 1st Irish Festival Announces This Year's Judges

TheaterMania Managing Editor Andy Lefkowitz will take a seat on the judging panel for the 2014 festival.

The seventh-annual edition of Origin's 1st Irish Festival has announced the panel of judges who will evaluate this year's roster of productions and performers and decide on prizes to the standout artists at the festival's closing-night awards ceremony on Monday, September 29. The ceremony's location has yet to be announced.

This year's panel includes TheaterMania Managing Editor Andy Lefkowitz, Mint Theater Artistic Director Jonathan Bank, casting director Stephanie Klapper, and Fox News Senior Producer Marvin Himelfarb.

The 2014 1st Irish Festival begins this week, with performances running through September 28. New Yiddish Rep's production of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot in Yiddish and the U.S. premiere of Dylan Coburn's Boys and Girls open the festival, which is set to feature four U.S. premieres and seven world premieres. Directed by Moshe Yassur with an authorized translation by Shane Baker, Waiting for Godot returns to New York City with a run from September 4-21 at the Barrow Street Theatre. Boys & Girls, meanwhile, takes up residence at 59E59 Theaters tomorrow night with a run from September 3-28.
