Derek Klena (Wicked) and Caitlin Kinnunen (Spring Awakening) will play the offspring of Kelli O’Hara and Hunter Foster in the upcoming Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown and Marsha Norman’s The Bridges of Madison County, producers have announced.

Kinnunen takes on the role of Carolyn, which she originated at Williamstown Theatre Festival. Klena, who recently appeared off-Broadway in Dogfight, will play Michael. The new musical centers on the love affair between O’Hara’s character, housewife Francesca Johnson, and photographer Robert Kincaid (played by the previously announced Steven Pasquale). Cass Morgan and Michael X. Martin are also featured in the company, with complete casting to be announced.

With a score by Brown and a book by Norman, The Bridges of Madison County is based on the bestselling novel by Robert James Waller and directed by Bartlett Sher. Previews begin January 17 at the Schoenfeld Theatre, with an opening set for February 20.
