Fran Drescher, best known for her Emmy-nominated performance as Fran Fine on the long-running 1990s CBS sitcom The Nanny, will join the cast of Broadway’s Cinderella beginning February 4 for a ten-week engagement. Drescher will take over the role of Madame from Harriet Harris, who originated the part.

Drescher makes her Broadway debut in the production. Her off-Broadway stage credits include Neil LaBute’s Some Girl(s), Love, Loss and What I Wore, and The Exonerated. Besides The Nanny, she has been seen on two other sitcoms, Living With Fran and Happily Divorced.

With a score by Rodgers and Hammerstein and a new book by Douglas Carter Beane, Cinderella stars Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana as Ella and Prince Topher, respectively. The principal company also includes Rebecca Luker, Peter Bartlett, Ann Harada, Marla Mindelle, and Greg Hildreth. Cinderella is directed by Mark Brokaw. It plays the Broadway Theatre.
