Four-time Tony winner Terrence McNally’s new play Mothers and Sons, which previously announced plans for a Broadway run, has found its home on the Great White Way at the John Golden Theatre, the late home of Rupert Holmes’ A Time to Kill. Preview performances are scheduled to begin February 23, 2014 in advance of a March 24 opening. Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller (Next Fall) will direct.

Tony and Emmy winner Tyne Daly (Master Class, Judging Amy) returns to the production after starring in its world premiere production at Bucks County Playhouse. Daly plays the mother of a man who died 20 years ago of AIDS. She pays a surprise visit to her son’s former lover, who is now married and has a young child with another man. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mothers and Sons will be McNally’s 20th Broadway production. His other credits include Bad Habits, The Ritz, The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Master Class, Ragtime, The Full Monty, and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.
