An original Broadway cast recording of Andrew Lippa and John August's Big Fish will be released by Broadway Records in early February. The recording, which is produced by Lippa and Michael Croiter, will be available digitally February 7 and in stores February 11.
Big Fish is based on the 2003 film of the same name, which August wrote based on the 1998 novel by Daniel Wallace. It is an epic tale that centers on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest. The production has announced that it will play its final performance on December 29. The musical opened at the Neil Simon Theatre on October 6.
Big Fish stars Norbert Leo Butz (Catch Me If You Can) as Edward Bloom, Kate Baldwin (Giant) as Sandra Bloom, Bobby Steggert (Giant) as Will Bloom, Krystal Joy Brown (Leap of Faith) as Josephine Bloom, and Anthony Pierini (Mary Poppins).
