Prospect Theater Company will present the New York premiere of Jasper in Deadland, a new musical featuring a score by Ryan Scott Oliver and book by Olivier- and Tony-nominated performer Hunter Foster (Hands on a Hardbody, The Bridges of Madison County). Performances will begin March 16 at the West End Theatre at Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew and will run through April 13.

The story follows 16-year-old Jasper as he journeys through the afterlife to save his best friend, Agnes. Along the way, he encounters demons, gods, mortals, and a variety of monsters from Greek, Egyptian, Roman, and Norse mythology, and learns about the meaning of life and death.

Jasper in Deadland was originally commissioned in 2011 by the Pasadena Musical Theatre Program. The New York premiere will be directed by Brandon Ivie and choreographed by Lorin Latarro.
