Thank You For Being a Friend, the musical parody based on the beloved 1980s sitcom The Golden Girls, returns to New York City for its third limited engagement, from January 8-February 12, following sold-out runs in 2009 and 2010. The production will be staged at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and directed by Nick Brennan.

Featuring a book by Brennan, music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Luke Jones and Cisco Cardenas, Thank You for Being a Friend follows a slightly modified version of the classic quartet. While Blanchette, Dorthea, Roz, and Sophie are spending their golden years together in a bungalow in Miami, they find themselves in a battle with their new neighbor, Ricky Martin, and his flamboyant posse, and have to settle a score at the annual Shady Oaks Retirement Home Talent Show.

The upcoming revised production will feature original cast members Chad Ryan, Luke Jones, and Nick Brennan, as well as newcomers John De Los Santos and Adrian Rifat. The creative team includes Cisco Cardanez (assistant director/stage manager), John De Los Santos (choreographer), Luke Jones (set design), Timothy Hart (lighting design), Jessa-Raye Court (costume design), Nancy Doan (wig design), and Doug Repetti (sound design).
