Frederick Weller and Bobby Steggert to Join Tyne Daly in Terrence McNally's Mothers and Sons on Broadway

Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller will direct the upcoming production.

Tony nominee Bobby Steggert (Big Fish) and Frederick Weller (Seascape) will join Tony and Emmy winner Tyne Daly (Master Class, Judging Amy) in the upcoming Broadway production of Terrence McNally's Mothers and Sons, which is set to begin performances on February 23 in advance of a March 24 opening at the John Golden Theatre. Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller (Next Fall) will direct.

Mothers and Sons follows the mother of a man who died 20 years ago from an AIDS-related illness. She pays a surprise visit to her son's former lover, who is now married to another man and has a young child. Steggert and Daly, will be returning to roles that they created in an earlier production of the play at Bucks County Playhouse.

Mothers and Sons will be McNally's 20th Broadway production. His other works for the stage include And Away We Go, Bad Habits, The Ritz, The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Master Class, Ragtime, The Full Monty, and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.
