Playwrights Horizons Extends its World Premiere of Amy Herzog’s The Great God Pan

Herzog’s new play starring Becky Ann Baker, Peter Friedman, and more will play through January 13.

Playwrights Horizons has announced a second extension of Obie Award-winning playwright Amy Herzog’s The Great God Pan, which opened at the theater on December 18. The production, which is directed by Carolyn Cantor (Playwrights Horizons’ After the Revolution), is now set to close on January 13, extending by a week.

Starring Becky Ann Baker (Good People), Tony Award nominee Peter Friedman (Twelve Angry Men), Sarah Goldberg (Clybourne Park), Keith Nobbs (Lombardi), Jeremy Strong (A Man for All Seasons), Joyce Van Patten (The People in the Picture), and Erin Wilhelmi, The Great God Pan tells the unsettling story of Jamie, a New York-based journalist with a beautiful girlfriend whose life is thrown into a tailspin with the revelation of a potential childhood trauma.

The production features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, and sound design by Darron L West.
