Mario Cantone, Rachel Dratch, and Janeane Garofalo to Read the Autobiographies of Other Celebs

Casting has been announced for the January 14 performance of Celebrity Autobiography.

Comedy favorites Mario Cantone (Laugh Whore), Rachel Dratch (30 Rock), Janeane Garofalo (24), Kristen Johnston (ER), Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, and Alan Zweibel (Saturday Night Live) will take part in the January 14 performance of the Drama Desk Award-winning Celebrity Autobiography, taking place at New York’s Stage 72.

Created by Eugene Pack and developed by Pack and Dayle Reyfel, Celebrity Autobiography features a rotating line-up of performers who read the words written by the famous in their autobiographies. Returning classics including the memoirs of Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher, and Debbie Reynolds, all edited together and the hilarious Burt Reynolds-Loni Anderson on again/ off again, he said/she said saga.

Casting has also been announced for Celebrity Autobiography‘s January 12 performance at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, California. That lineup will feature Laraine Newman, Eugene Pack, Dayle Reyfel, Jonathan Silverman, Fred Willard, and Joanne Worley, reading selections from books by by Justin Bieber, “The Situation,” Madonna, Tiger Woods, and more.

In a 2010 interview with Best of New Orleans, Eugene Pack said the idea for Celebrity Biography came to him while reading an autobiography by Vanna White. “She was writing how hard it is to change the panels on Wheel of Fortune, and I wondered, if people could hear this stuff out loud would they find the humor that I do?”
