The new Broadway musical Chaplin, starring Rob McClure in the title role, has announced it will play its final performance on January 6 at the Barrymore Theatre. Chaplin features direction and choreography by Warren Carlyle, with musical direction by Bryan Perri.

With music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray), Chaplin depicts the life of silent film legend Charlie Chaplin, whose rise from street tramp to film mogul captivated the world, revealing the man who forever changed the way audiences went to the movies.

In addition to McClure (Avenue Q), the cast features Jim Borstelmann (The Addams Family) as Alf Reeves; Jenn Colella (Urban Cowboy) as Hedda Hopper; Ethan Khusidman as Usher; Erin Mackey (Anything Goes) as Oona O'Neill; Michael McCormick (Elf) as Sennett, McGranery, and Emcee; Christiane Noll (Ragtime) as Hannah Chaplin; Zachary Unger as Young Charlie, Jackie; and Wayne Alan Wilcox (The Normal Heart) as Sydney Chaplin.

The creative team includes Beowulf Boritt (set design), Amy Clark and Martin Pakledinaz (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Scott Lehrer and Drew Levy (sound design), and Jon Driscoll (projection design).

As previously announced, Chaplin plans to launch a national tour in fall of 2014, with plans for an international world tour to follow. The cast album for the musical will be available for digital download on December 4, 2012, with the original Broadway cast CD to follow on January 8, 2013.
