Samuel & Alasdair: A Personal History of the Robot War to Play New Ohio

Marc Bovino and Joe Curnutte’s Samuel & Alasdair: A Personal History of the Robot War will play the New Ohio Theatre, running January 5-21. Lila Neugebauer, who conceived the piece with Bovino and Curnutte, will direct.

The company-created show imagines an alternative to world history in which the Cold War was decided not by détente, not by nuclear holocaust, but by massive robot invasion. Among the survivors is a team of Russian radio hosts, who have warmed to a lost culture of 1950s Americana and broadcast a story that’s based on love drawn straight from the American heartland.

The company will feature Curnutte and Bovino, along with Stephanie Wright Thompson and Michael Dalto.

The creative team will include Laura Jellinek (scenic design), Mike Inwood (lighting design), Jessica Pabst (costume design) and Stowe Nelson (sound design), along with performer Dalto, who will serve as musical director.
