Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre has announced an extension for the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith’s Horsedreams, which will now play through December 17. Gordon Edelstein has directed the production.

The play explores the breakdown of the family unit as a result of addiction. After his wife, Desiree, dies of an accidental overdose, Loman faces the harsh reality of raising their son, Luka, alone.

In addition to Orlandersmith, who plays the role of Mira, the cast includes Roxanna Hope (Desiree), Michael Laurence (Loman), and Matthew Schechter (Luka).

The creative team includes Takeshi Kata (scenic design), Kaye Voyce (costume design), Marcus Doshi (lighting design), and Ryan Rumery (sound design).
