The performances, directed by Laurence Connor and featuring musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne, celebrated the 25th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s popular musical’s opening in the West End.

The company for the concerts features Ramin Karimloo in the title role, Sierra Boggess as Christine, Barry James as Monsieur Firmin, Gareth Snook as Monsieur André, Liz Robertson as Madame Giry and Wynne Evans as Piangi.

The performances also feature special guest appearances from the actors who originated the roles of The Phantom and Christine, Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. In addition to the performance, the DVD and Blu-Ray releases will include bonus material including a making of feature about the concert.

In related news, it has also been announced that Webber’s Phantom sequel, Love Never Dies, will also be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on May 29. The video of this musical features Ben Lewis, Anna O’Byrne, Maria Mercedes, Simon Gleeson, Sharon Millerchip, Emma J Hawkins, Paul Tabone, and Dean Vince, under the direction of Simon Phillips. Along with the show itself, the release will include bonus material such as a featurette looking behind the scenes of the musical.
