The Guggenheim Museum has announced the events to be featured in its Works & Process series for the 2012 season. Each 80-minute-long program informs artistic creation through artist discussion and performance and takes place in the Guggenheim’s Peter B. Lewis Theater.

As previously reported, on Sunday, January 22, at 7:30pm composer Rufus Wainwright will take part in a conversation about his new opera Prima Donna. George Steel will moderate the discussion, which will also feature members of the creative team. New York City Opera will also perform excerpts from the work, with the performance to be streamed live.

New York Theatre Workshop will preview its presentation of An Iliad on Sunday, February 5 at 7:30pm. The work is directed by Lisa Peterson, and stars Tony Award-winning actors Denis O’Hare and Stephen Spinella, who share the role of the poet.

Presentations will also be made by composer Charles Wuorinen (February 19 & 20); Columbia Professor Robert Klitzman (March 4); American Ballet Theatre (April 29 and 30); and Pacific Northwest Ballet (May 13 and 14).

In addition, there will be two programs presented in conjunction with the major retrospective John Chamberlain: Choices, on view at the Guggenheim February 24-May 13, 2012, and will include a viewing of the exhibition. The World of John Chamberlain will feature a guest appearance by jazz great Bill Charlap, among others on April 22 and 23, while Jerusalem-based jazz pianist Omri Mor and his Trio will be featured on May 7.
