Genson Blimline to Join Broadway’s Rock of Ages

Genson Blimline will perform the role of Lonny in the Broadway production of Rock of Ages, at the Helen Hayes Theatre, beginning Monday, December 19. He replaces original cast member Mitchell Jarvis, who is on leave of absence, and scheduled to return to the production on February 20.

Blimline’s credits include South Pacific on Broadway and on national tour, as well as Mask the Musical, Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas, A Chorus Line, Smokey Joe’s Café, Grease, and Footloose.


Rock of Ages features a book by Chris D’Arenzio, and a score composed of iconic 1980s hits from bands such as REO Speedwagon, Journey, Styx, Foreigner, and Whitesnake. The storyline a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise.

Kristin Hanggi directs a cast that also features Emily Padgett as Sherrie, Dan Domenech as Drew, Jeremy Woodard as Stacee Jaxx, Adam Dannheisser as Dennis, Cody Scott Lancaster as Franz, Michele Mais as Justice, Josephine Rose Roberts as Regina, and Paul Schoeffler as Hertz. The cast also includes Tessa Alves, Joey Calveri, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Jennifer Rias, Andre Ward, Katie Webber, and Emily Williams.
