AENY-El Puente to Premiere Wearing Lorca’s Bowtie

AENY-El Puente, with the support of the Spanish Consulate of New York, will present the world premiere of Wearing Lorca’s Bowtie. Josh Hecht and Ignacio García-Bustelo will direct the production, which will play The Duke on 42nd Street, December 8-17.

Wearing Lorca’s Bowtie is inspired by internationally acclaimed Spanish poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca and his life-changing trip to New York City in 1929. The production will unite 15 individual artists as they dream of Lorca and explore the wonderment and loneliness that New York emanates – blending fantasy with actual moments from Lorca’s own work and personal experiences.

AENY-El Puente artists include: Benita Benéitez, Adela Bolet, Freia Canals, María Cuartero, Beatriz de la Cruz, Sebastián Gálvez, Juan Carlos López, Puela Lunaris, Javier Moreno, Pep Munoz, Soraya Padrao, Amara C. Pérez, Nuria Rabanillo, Rodrigo Recabarren, Carlos Renedo, David Riley, and Yago Vázquez.
