Willard Beckham’s Lucky Guy Musical to Play Off-Broadway’s Little Shubert

The new musical comedy Lucky Guy, written and directed by Willard Beckham, will play a 12-week limited engagement Off-Broadway at the Little Shubert Theare, April 28-July 24, with an opening set for May 19. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Set in Nashville, Tennessee, the musical weaves a tale of down-home dreamers and low-down schemers all willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top in the cut-throat world of Music City, USA.

The creative team will include Rob Bissinger (set design), Paul Miller (lighting design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Kurt Fischer (sound design), Todd Ellison (orchestrations and musical supervision), and A.C. Ciulla (choreography).

Beckham won an ASCAP Special Award for Musical Theatre for Lucky Guy. His previous musicals include Magic in the Mirror. As an actor, he starred on Broadway in Something’s Afoot and The Utter Glory of Morrisey Hall.
