The Front Page, Grey Gardens, Saturday Night Fever, et al. Added to National Film Registry

The National Film Registry, a roster maintained by the National Film Preservation Board to safeguard films deemed “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant,” has announced its 25 newest additions, according to The New York Times.

Among these are the 1931 film version of the play The Front Page, the documentary Grey Gardens, Saturday Night Fever, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

Other notable additions include The Exorcist, The Empire Strikes Back, All the President’s Men, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Malcolm X, and The Pink Panther.
