Songs by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Kurt Weill et al. Featured in NYFOS’ Road Trip

The New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) and Julliard will present Road Trip: An American Travelogue in Song, at Alice Tully Hall on Wednesday, January 12 at 8pm.

The program is an American travelogue in song from New England to the deep South, and from the Midwest to Texas and California. It will feature songs by Irving Berlin, Eubie Blake, Jason Robert Brown, Hoagy Carmichael, Charlie Daniels, John Forster, Peter Golub, Charles Ives, Emmerich Kalman, Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman, John Jacob Niles, Cole Porter, Walter Samuels, Arthur Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, Jule Styne, Karl Suessdorf, Billie Taylor, Kurt Weill, and Paul Whiteman.

Road Trip is directed by Steven Blier, with Michael Barrett on the piano. The evening features a group of Juilliard singers: soprano Meredith Lustig; mezzo-sopranos Lacey Jo Benter and Naomi O’Connell; tenor Daniel Curran; and baritones Tobias Greenhalgh, Will Liverman, and Timothy J. McDevitt.
