Peter Sinn Nachtrieb has received the first in a quintet of Full Stage Commissions from the National New Play Network (NNPN). The grant provides not only $25,000 to the playwright, but also travel and development resources at New Dramatists, and an additional $40,000 in subsidies for the eventual production of the work.

With the gift, Nachtrieb will begin work on a play about lying in contemporary America. His previous works include Boom, Hunter Gatherers, and BOB.

NNPN is committed to developing new American plays and supporting them through the Continued Life of New Plays Fund, which underwrites rolling world premieres, during which three companies commit to producing the same new work within the course of one season. It is anticipated the Full Stage Commissions will eventually become part of Fund’s work. The organization is comprised of 26 theaters producing through the U.S.
