Opera Singer Frances Ginsberg Dies at 55

Opera singer Frances Ginberg has died at age 55 of brain and spinal cancer, according to The New York Times.

Ginsberg worked frequently at New York City Opera, where her roles included Margherita and Elena in Mefistofele, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Mimi in La Bohème, and Violetta in La Traviata.

During her career, she alo worked with the Metropoltina Opera, the Houston Grand Opera, the Welsh National Opera, and l’Opéra de Nice, among other companies.


She is survived by her brother, Michael.
