James Moye will assume the role of Sam Phillips in the Broadway production of Million Dollar Quartet at the Tuesday, December 21 performance. The performer will be taking over the part while Hunter Foster takes a leave of absence from the show.

Moye’s other Broadway credits include Ragtime, A Tale of Two Cities, The Full Monty, and Urinetown. In addition, he appeared in the national tours of The Drowsy Chapertone, Little Shop of Horrors, and White Christmas.

Million Dollar Quartet is inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley — along with Sam Phillips, founder of Sun Records. Eric Schaeffer has directed the production.
