Tony Award winner Marshall's film will open officially on December 18 in New York and Los Angeles followed by a wider release on Christmas Day. The musical, based on Federico Fellini's 8 ½, focuses on Guido Contini, a movie director, played by Day-Lewis, and the myriad women in his life.
The movie also stars Cottilard as Luisa, Penelope Cruz as Carla, Nicole Kidman as Claudia, Dench as Liliane LeFleur, Sophia Loren as Guido's mother, Hudson as Stephanie, and Stacy Ferguson (aka Fergie) as Saraghina. The film includes three new songs, penned by composer Yeston.
