International WOW Company will present the U.S. premiere of its production of Masataka Matsuda’s Auto Da Fe at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, January 8-24. Josh Fox will direct.

In this new audience-immersive epic, a soldier named Odysseus A returns from war to find the emotional and physical landscape of his home altered and utterly unrecognizable. The play was originally produced in Kyoto and Tokyo, Japan to popular and critical acclaim.

The cast will include Deborah Wallace, Robert Saietta, Ikuko Ikari, Beth Griffith, Herbie Go, Brandon Smith, Sara Gozalo, Melissa Chambers, and others.

International WOW received a 2009 Drama Desk nomination for its production of Surrender, with other works including Death of Nations, Orphan on God’s Highway, and The Bomb. Its 2010 season will also include the world premiere of Reconstruction, conceived and directed by Josh Fox and created by the Ensemble, to be performed at the Ohio Theater in May.
