Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, and Jan Maxwell will star in a Broadway revival of Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me a Tenor, which will begin performances at the Music Box Theatre on March 11, in anticipation of an April 4 opening. Stanley Tucci will direct the production.

Set in the 1930s, this madcap screwball comedy is set in motion when Tito Merelli, the fiery-tempered and world famous Italian superstar, arrives in Cleveland, Ohio to make his debut with the local opera and promptly goes missing. As Saunders, the show’s presenter, conspires to cover for Tito’s absence, placate his hot-blooded wife, and distract his most passionate fans, chaos on a truly operatic level ensues.

The company will also feature Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz, and Brooke Adams. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The creative team will include John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design), Martin Pakledinaz, (costume design), Peter Hylenski (sound design) and David Loud (musical supervisor).
