King and I Star Dorothy Sarnoff Dies at 94

Actress Dorothy Sarnoff, who originated the role of Lady Thiang in the Broadway production of The King and I, died on Saturday, December 20 at the age of 94.

Sarnoff’s other Broadway credits include the operetta Rosalinda and the musicals Magdalena and My Darlin’ Aida. She also appeared in the City Center productions of the operas Faust and Tosca.

She also did guest spots on television, notably on Talk of the Town, and was an author, lecturer, and speech teacher.
