De Shields, Mann, Templeton, et al. to Participate in NYPL Acting Teacher Panel

Susan Grace Cohen, Andre De Shields, Lee Grant, Stephen Henderson, Theodore Mann, Robert X. Modica, Betsy Parrish, Carol Fox Prescott, Joanna Rotte, and Penny Templeton will participate in a panel discussion about the book Acting Teachers of America at the Mid-Manhattan New York Public Library, on Monday, January 12 at 6:30 pm.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature the panelists sharing their unique insights into the craft of acting and actor training in America.

Acting Teachers of America: A Vital Tradition is published by Allworth Press, and encompasses 50 acting teachers, actors, and directors who teach acting, as well as 50 interviews with a former student of each teacher. In addition to several of the above named individuals, the book’s interviewees also include notable names such as Anne Bogart, Steve Buscemi, Olympia Dukakis, Gene Hackman, William Hurt, Anne Jackson, Patti LuPone, Austin Pendleton, Sidney Poitier, Sam Rockwell, and JoBeth Williams.
