Michael Learned to Star in La Mirada’s Driving Miss Daisy

Award-winning actress Michael Learned will star in the La Mirada Theatre’s production of Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Driving Miss Daisy, February 1-17. The production will be directed by Brian Kate. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The play concerns a cantankerous Southern widow who ends up making great friends with the older African-American man her son has hired to drive her around. Uhry’s other works include The Last Night of Ballyhoo and the books for the musicals Parade and LoveMusik.

Learned’s many stage credits include The Best Man, The Sisters Rosensweig, On Golden Pond, All Over, and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan. She is a four-time Emmy Award winner, having earned three awards for her role on hit series The Waltons and one for the series Nurse.
