Gelb, Glass, Morris, Tipton, et al. Set for Guggenheim’s Works & Process

The 2008 spring line-up of events for the Guggenheim Museum’s Works & Process series has been announced.

Among the many highlights will be scenes from Playwrights Horizons’ production of Sarah Ruhl’s Dead Man’s Cell Phone (January 27-28), excerpts from the New York City Opera production of Purcell’s King Arthur, complete with a discussion by choreographer-director Mark Morris, costume designer Isaac Mizrahi, and conductor Jane Glover (March 3); excerpts from the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Satyargraha with a discussion by composer Philip Glass and general manager Peter Gelb (March 30),
a panel discussion called Exploring Light with Tony Award winner Jennifer Tipton (April 6-7), and a program of poetry by Dana Gioia set to the music of Milton Babbitt, Kirsten Childs, David Felder, Stephen Flaherty, and John Harbison (April 27).

There will also be programs by American Ballet Theater (January 13-14, May 4-5), New York City Ballet (January 20-21), The Kirov Ballet (March 31), and Armitage Gone! Dane (May 30-31).
