Close, Marsalis, Merkerson Set for Lincoln Center’s Red Hot Holiday Stomp

Tony Award winner Glenn Close will host Jazz at Lincoln Center’s annual holiday concert, Red Hot Holiday Stomp, to take place at 8pm on Monday, December 10 at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and to be broadcast on PBS’ Live from Lincoln Center.

The concert will feature trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and other musicians, along with the reading of Music, Deep Rivers in My Soul, a collaboration between Marsalis and poet Maya Angelou that will feature Emmy Award winner S. Epatha Merkerson.

In other Lincoln Center news, it has just been announced that David Pountney’s celebrated production of Bernd Alois Zimmerman’s opera Die Soldaten (Soldiers) will be seen as part of the 2008 Lincoln Center Festival. The production will be take place on July 5, 7, 9, 11, and 12 at the Park Avenue Armory.
