Williams' stage credits include Grease, Moon Over Buffalo, and Deathtrap. She is best known for her starring role on the hit ABC sitcom Laverne & Shirley. Her other film and television credits include Travels with My Aunt, The Conversation, and Girlfriends.

The Drowsy Chaperone won five 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Book (Bob Martin and Don McKellar) and Best Score of a Musical (Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison), and seven Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical.
