Lew, Buntrock to Join Beauty and the Beast on December 26

Deborah Lew will take over the role of Belle and Stephen R. Buntrock will take over the role of Gaston in the Broadway production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as of Tuesday, December 26. They will replace Sarah Uriarte Berry and Donny Osmond respectively.

Lew’s many stage credits include the Broadway production of The Threepenny Opera, the New York City Opera production of Candide, the Off-Broadway musical Cupid and Psyche, and regional productions of West Side Story, Amour, and Cinderella.

Buntrock’s Broadway credits include Oklahoma!, in which he succeeded Patrick Wilson as Curly, Titanic, Jane Eyre, and The Phantom of the Opera. His regional credits include Sweeney Todd, Miss Saigon, and Brigadoon. He is married to actress Erin Dilly.

The show also stars Steve Blanchard as the Beast, John Tartaglia as Lumiere, Jonathan Freeman as Cogsworth, Jeanne Lehmann as Mrs. Potts, Mary Stout as Madame de la Grand Bouche, Meredith Inglesby as Babette, and Aldrin Gonzalez as Lefou. The show, which opened in April 1994, has run for more than 5,000 performances.
