Jennifer Hope Wills to Be Phantom‘s New Christine

Jennifer Hope Wills will officially take over the role of Christine in the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera from Rebecca Pitcher on Tuesday, December 12.

Wills has been the role’s alternate since April 20 and played Christine on the show’s national tour this summer. Julie Hanson will return as the Christine alternate on Monday, December 11, when she will perform the role.

Wills has previously starred on Broadway in Wonderful Town, The Woman in White, and Beauty and the Beast. She also starred in the City Center Encores! production of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.

The Phantom of the Opera will celebrate its nineteenth anniversary on January 26. Directed by Harold Prince, the show currently stars Howard McGillin as the Phantom, Michael Shawn Lewis as Raoul, Anne Runolfsson as Carlotta, George Lee Andrews as Monseiur Firmin, David Cryer as Monsieur Andre, Marilyn Caskey as Madame Giry, Roland Rusinek as Piangi, and Heather McFadden as Meg Giry.
